Welcome to the website of the Berkessel group. We belong to the Department of Chemistry of the University of Cologne. Most of our research activities center around aspects of organic and biological catalysis, as well as the influence of small organic molecules on biological systems ("chemical genetics"). Our multi-facetted research is embedded in bilateral cooperation with scientists all over the world, scientific networks, as well as national and european funding programs.
